Kia Ora!
Welcome to my website! I’m Sacha, and I’ve been mastering the art of jump rope for the past three years. My passion for exercise led me to discover freestyle skipping through an Instagram video, opening my eyes to a vibrant, global sport that combines creativity and athleticism.
In New Zealand, skipping is often seen as a schoolyard activity or something “for girls”; but in reality, it is a recognized sport with clubs, state championships, nationals, and even world championships. Unfortunately, New Zealand is still catching up.
My journey began with learning tricks from the amazing online jump rope community, where I connected with talented folks worldwide. They helped me develop proper form and introduced me to various skill categories. This fueled my passion for a sport I never knew existed.
In 2022, I started training with Australian National and World Champion, Luke Boon, who has been my coach for the past two years. His guidance has enabled me to achieve feats I never thought possible. In 2023, I entered the competitive scene, traveling to Australia for competitions.
Now, I’m on a mission to spread the love of jump rope throughout Aotearoa. I dream of seeing a Team New Zealand competing at World Champs one day! To help grow the sport, I’ve created a YouTube channel featuring tutorials for Kiwi kids and love going into schools to show tamariki what is possible.
Join me on this exciting journey and let’s bring jump rope to new heights in New Zealand!
